M’Mbondo Manchester advances public education in African and minority cultural heritage, and supports people across Greater Manchester who are experiencing hardship or isolation.
Culture & Heritage
We preserve and share the traditions of the Babondo people and wider African communities — including the Kibembe language, Esuba dance, traditional dress and culinary heritage — through public events, teaching and demonstration.
Education
We teach cultural traditions to younger generations and share them with the wider public through workshops, storytelling and intergenerational sessions, so that this heritage is preserved and understood.
Community Support
We provide advice, signposting and culturally appropriate support to people in Greater Manchester experiencing hardship or isolation — in particular refugees and migrants from the Democratic Republic of Congo and the wider Central and East African region who are rebuilding their lives after displacement.
